Stacey Wells - Rock Star Artist
Stacey Wells grew up in the beauty of North Vancouver where she began her love for drawing. Tragically when Stacey was two, her father Warner Wells, was killed in a plane crash when a passenger put a bomb on board the commercial, airplane he was piloting. Because of this Stacey spent countless wonderful hours at her grandparents who lived on the waterfront in West Vancouver. Her Grandfather would teach her to skip rocks on the ocean, she loved to watch the ripples in the sunlight, this is where her fascination with water light and reflections began. Decades later while on a wine tour with girlfriends, after tasting wine so good, it was Rock Star worthy, Wells became inspired to create paintings of wine bottles. Wells' wanted to reflect good times had with music, wine, essentially capturing time in a bottle. Stacey Wells wine artworks fast became a collectable art which spun into many series such as “RockStar Reflections,” “Hollywood and Wine,” “Spin the Bottle” and “Time in a Bottle” which reflects travel, Iconic landmarks and individual memories. Each bottle reflects a moment in time, which may evoke a different memory for every viewer. Many of the bottles have hidden symbols and messages allowing one to send a “message in a bottle” to the one they love. This unique series started Wells’ art career with a bang when she was invited to hang her art on either side of the KISS Axe guitar at a private, event with Gene Simmons at the ROCK STAR gallery. Her love of reflections carries on in her “Reflect Your Passion’ Portraits in which Wells reflects images in sunglasses. In her latest series you will find reflections in the chrome of vintage cars. Inspired by music, wine, Hollywood, stories, cool rocker looks and pop culture Wells captures the essence of her subjects and brings back moments in time with her vibrant, edgy, pop style, artworks. Wells’ art can be found at galleries in the US, Canada and on art collector’s walls worldwide. Wells art hangs in a few celebrity’s bedrooms, Steven Tyler, Rod Stewart’s son and Hugh Hefner, who hung Wells’ art in his bedroom at the Playboy Mansion. Hef loved it so much Wells was invited to dinner at the Playboy Mansion. Wells creates custom art for individuals and large corporations.
