Highlighting ROAM Gallery Artist
Paddy Meade - Visual Artist/Painter
I am an emerging artist working mainly in Acrylic, Mixed Media and Watercolour. While art endeavours were a significant part of my early years, it was sidelined to a rewarding career and family life. There has always been a nearby sketchbook and pen and an ongoing search to balance busy with creative. My life adventures provided opportunities for the study of human, community and nature interactions including wilderness exploration and several years living "north of 60" in the Northwest Territories and Yukon. I have been fortunate to learn from the places and people in Canada's North and these memories guide my creative process. I pull the memories, emotions, visions and colours of the land and people in painting. My work spans abstract, contemporary and semi-realism with texture and colour used to portray the interactions and tensions of land, wildlife and people. I have a studio in Vancouver and in Gibsons on the Sunshine Coast. I am self taught however currently study in watercolour take workshops and demonstrations from wonderful BC and Canadian artists who have been so supportive in my journey. I will be participating in the Sunshine Coast Art Crawl, October 2019 and the Eastside Culture Crawl (Vancouver) November 2019. ROAM Gallery - Here Comes the Sun, 2019
