Highlighting ROAM Gallery Artist
Debbie Lynch - Painter
I was raised amidst the vast prairie scenes I grew to love so much in rural Alberta and Saskatchewan. I now presently reside in Kelowna, B.C. and have developed a new appreciation for the never ending mountain views, lake vistas, orchards and vineyards.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Saskatchewan and at UBC Okanagan. I also attended various workshops at Red Deer Art College, Kelowna Art Gallery, Dundas Valley Art School and The Kenderdine Art Campus at Emma Lake to further my artistic voice, taking instruction from many Great Artists such as Amira Wasfy, Grant McConnell, John Cooper, Degan Lindner, and Catherine Perehudoff Fowler, just to name a few.
My studies include Drawing, Painting, Photography and Printmaking but my main love is Painting.
I enjoy portraying landscapes, figures, and abstracts using a variety of mediums, mostly, acrylics, inks, charcoal, pencils and oil sticks.
My style consists of both realistic and abstract images, as well as just allowing myself the freedom to play with no idea where my brushstrokes will lead me enjoying the moment.
For me, the creative process is more important than the finished product.
I enjoy painting with strong colors, varied textures and bold movements letting my paintings evolve from within me.
