Highlighting ROAM Gallery Artist
Cindy "Blush" Fair - Sculptor
- Blush N Bones
Living most of her adulthood in Vancouver BC, Cindy “Blush” Fair has travelled through many parts of Central and South America; where she discovered her passion for its culture, traditions and family values.
Her inspiration is channeled mostly through the recognition of Dia de Muertos – Mexico’s day of the dead. Although this cultural event appears to be based on death; it is in her opinion, more about the celebration of life and the mark we leave behind. Did we fully embrace and live the life we loved? Did we find and bring joy to others? Those are the most profound thoughts while working on her skulls – each one seems to take on a personality of their own as they evolve into their final masterpiece.
"Remains of our Dreams" - April 13-19th, 2016
A quick peak at the beginning of the sculpting phase when creating an outrageous sugar skull. This is what I start with … a big “blob” of clay which sort of resembles a human head – I will let the video take it from here.
Enjoy this clip from my lovely studio in Vancouver British Columbia!
