Highlighting ROAM Gallery Artist
Angela Costello - Painter
Angela Costello was born and raised in London, Ontario, the youngest of thirteen children in her immediate family. During her years of attending the University of Western Ontario she spent summers working at the Banff Centre of Fine Arts, where she fell in love with Western Canada. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, she transplanted herself to Vancouver in 1991. In 1996, she transplanted to Buenos Aires, Argentina for two years.
In 2003, she achieved a 2D Design Certificate from Emily Carr Institute of Design. In 2006, she followed her heart, and Fernando, to Guadalajara. Mexico where she painted; exhibited at two galleries, and taught English.
Vancouver has, and always will be home. She paints the creations of her vivid colourful dreams, childhood heros, political musings, and her broadened life perspectives.
The first fine artist to churn her heart was Henri Matisse. She adores First Nation's art, Mexican art, Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso, Frieda Kahlo, Emily Carr, and many, many others.
Currently she resides in the Wohlsein as a resident artist where she exhibited at the inaugural opening of the Wohlsein Gallery in Mount Pleasant, Vancouver July 8 2017.
